Abstract

The term pyopericardium is a distinct entity which means pus in pericardial cavity. It used to be commonly described in neonates and children in pre-antibiotic era. Very few cases have been reported in adults. We report a case of a 30-year old male presenting with a right middle lobe consolidation and pyopericardium due to M. tuberculosiswith review of relevant literature.
