Abstract

The incidence of rectal perforation while doing flexible colonoscopy is rare. We report a case of rectal perforation while performing colonoscopy in a patient with undiagnosed sigmoid volvulus, which was operated immediately. A primary closure of rectal perforation after detorsion of viable sigmoid colon and sigmoid tube colostomy with sigmiodopexy was done. Patient had a good post operative recovery without any complications.
