Abstract

Heriditary spherocytosis is an autosomal dominant congenital haemolytic anaemia due to abnormalities in cytoskeleton of red blood cell membrane. The management of pregnancy in a patient with hereditary spherocytosis is challenging, as there are several issues involved in it. Recently we came across a woman with hereditary spherocytosis presenting with pregnancy at sixth week of gestation. We discuss in this brief communication, various issues in the management of pregnancy in hereditary spherocytosis and present a protocol for the management
