Abstract

Ectopic salivary tissue in the palatine tonsil is a very rare finding and its presentation is not described much in literature. A review of the literature revealed only 3 previous reports of ectopic salivary tissue in the palatine tonsil which has been reported. Tonsillo-styloidectomy was done for Eagle's syndrome and histopathologic study showed presence of ectopic salivary tissue along with squamous mucosa of the normal tonsillar tissue
