Inhalational OP Poisoning – A case report

Abstract

We have encountered a rare presentation of Inhalational Organophosphorus (OP) Poisoning in our hospital. A 21-year male patient was referred from PHC with a history of accidental inhalation during spraying insecticide in the field. The patient developed respiratory failure and had to be put on ventilator for respiratory support. An unusually higher dose of anticholinesterase (Ach) and P AM were required in the management of the 2 patient. The patient was on ventilatory support for 5 days and recovered. Such severe manifestation in a case of inhalation is very rare, highlighting the need for proper prevention and management of any kind of OPpoisoning
