Abstract

Giant congenital melanocytic nevi are rare and occur in about one out of every 2 lakh to 5 lakh births. The common site is the lower back and thigh, where it is distributed in a garment fashion and is termed as bathing trunk nevus. When it occurs on the scalp, it presents as thickened folds of skin with deep furrows and convolutions. This descriptive term is called Cutis verticis gyrate (CVG), which clinically resembles cylindroma (Turban tumor). We are reporting a case of a 16 year old girl with Giant congenital melanocytic nevus of scalp. The case is being presented because of its rarity.
