My dear family members of AYUSH

The task of editing a scientific journal is both an honourable and challenging one. One of the biggest challenges is to procure sufficient number of quality articles that adhere to the set standards. Apart from this, we also had the challenge of publishing four back volumes of the RJAS journal.

I must thank the editorial team as well as the supporting staff who did an extraordinary work and spent extra time very willingly to contact writers and motivate them to send articles. I am happy that now we have required number of articles and all have been peer reviewed.

The number of articles voluntarily submitted to the journal by were very few. Many of the articles that were submitted did not confirm to the standards of a quality scientific journal. The editorial board took a decision to make all possible efforts to get the required number of articles; it was also decided to be less stringent on articles for these pending four volumes. However, keeping in view of the long-term growth of the journal, the editorial board has plans for overcoming the shortcomings in future.

One of the important plans is to sensitize the family of AYUSH about the needs and skills of a scientific article writing. A team of expert resource persons is constituted, and it would conduct five workshops at zonal level. This will enable AYUSH practitioners to feel confident and comfortable in writing and sending their scientific articles not only to RJAS, but also to various other standard journals of AYUSH and other biological sciences as well.

I sincerely hope that I will be able to share the success as well as the outcome of this initiative in the next issue.
