Abstract

The desire to live, one of the basic instincts has been common to all living creatures ever since the first unicellular organism evolved on this graceful planet, the Earth. Man, the most developed and sophisticated living being on earth, desires not only to live, but also to live a long, happy and disease free life as far as possible. The concept of long living by controlling the aging process and improving the health status is described under the concept of  specialized branch of Ayurveda. In the present study, the effect of one such Rasayana drug, Ashwagandha was studied on different age groups using various clinical parameters (on Dhatu Kshaya Lakshanas and Sara Lakshanas).
