Greetings from RGUHS Journal of Nursing Sciences. I take immense pleasure in presenting Vol-13, Issue-1 of RJNS, January 2023. The RGUHS editorial board extends its gratitude to all the authors who have contributed articles for this issue. Research helps nurses to implement best practices and to improve patient care. Nursing research guides the nurses to respond to changes in the healthcare environment, patient populations and government regulations. As researchers make discoveries, and practice nursing, it continues to change. The information students learn can become quickly outdated; so to keep pace with new developments in nursing, continuous research activities must be planned to help graduates grow higher in their careers. Nurses need to do research because it helps them advance in their field, stay updated and offer better patient care. Evidence-based nursing research has opened new paths for career growth of nurses. Nurses need to understand, evaluate and apply their skills in nursing research and in turn in their careers. Nursing colleges teach these skills to help nurses advance in their careers.

Nurses play a vital role in the frontline healthcare. They solve problems at life-defining moments and create systems for improved patient care. Nurses at all levels should take the opportunity to share their learnings by publishing their research and findings. Publishing articles in reputed journals is an essential part of the nursing profession. It is vital for nurses to share their experiences and expertise with others in the profession. Publishing nursing journal articles also provide the advanced practice nurses a forum to demonstrate the acumen honed through advanced nursing. Nurses should familiarize themselves with the process of creating a journal-worthy article before writing. Journal articles provide critical information that nurses can apply in their own practice. Ultimately, the information may uncover vital insights into health care concepts that could lead to higher-quality care and improved patient outcomes.
